Transformation
Minyu has transformed from service crew to culinary trainee this semester! First lesson for culinary was not as tough compared to service lessons. While mr goh bellowed his YOOOOU ARE LAATE! at the service students, ms wilson was giving us gentle reminders about punctuality. Nostalgia.
The practical part lasted for only 2 and half hours. Minyu can now dice carrots! In perfect 0.6cm x 0.6cm x 0.6cm dimension k! (Chef said there's no problem with my carrots, this means PERFECT) So proud of myself! I didn't cut myself at all, I produced chopped parsley not chopped human fingers leh! And now I know le, if I ever act in ou xiang ju then have to cry because my lover is leaving me, just have to chop onions before that scene or smear myself with onion juice. I cried so hard while chopping them today! boohoohoo...

Hey guys! Watched Lust Caution with xinyu on thurs. Tang wei and Tony Leung's acting was mindblowing! The 2 characters had very complex emotions and both of them grasped it very clearly. For such detailed acting and cinematography, its worth paying to watch it on the big screen!
There were major cuts to the sex scenes in the movie (NC16). Xinyu and I joked about using imagination to fill in the gap haha but yea the cuts were abit too abrupt.
Worked at the OctoberFest in Hotel Rendevous yesterday. There weren't alot of people and we only had to clear plates so it was very slack. But only earned $30. Am I getting greedy? Afterall $6 per hr for a slack job is supposed to be good pay. Besides, we got to eat the leftover gourmet food. The chocolate ice cream is... zomg filled with solid bits of chocolate lar! Then there were pork knuckles, german sausages, potato salad, apple strudels which the chef kindly warmed up for us. So... its a good job with all the staff benefits I guess.
Btw, in case your are wondering how come my holiday seems last forever, school is restarting next week! Come to think of it, I have 2 months of holiday for every semester, thats one-third of the semester. That adds up to one whole year of my 3year course. I would have graduated after this semester without all the holidays, hmpt!

八天梦幻之旅 （人文篇）
从成都到九寨沟，一路上会经过藏族，羌族和回族所居住的地方，所以导游有介绍他们的一些风俗民情。藏族人的宗教是大乘佛法，在书上看过，他们所信奉的好像也是观音菩萨，不过仪式跟新加坡的完全不一样。
藏族人把经文放在像这样的圆筒-叫诵经筒，如果把圆筒转一遍就等于念了一次经文。他们还把经文写在彩色的布上面做成旗子，当风一吹过就表示经文念了一遍。这样的诵经方法我第一次听的时候觉得好像在 '走shortcut', 不过我想这样无时无刻地念经也体现藏民族对佛教的虔诚吧。
羌族则是住在高山上面，以种田为生。其中有一个羌族村叫‘萝卜寨’，它的名字背后有故事，可是太长我不讲了。那里被开发成为景点，我们第五天到那里参观顺便吃午餐。萝卜寨里面的屋子多数是用黄泥还有石头盖的，因为山上面冷的关系，所以黄泥墙很坚固，不会倒。一走进去，每一条小巷看起来都一样所以很容易迷路，当初这样建是为了防止敌人攻打。
他们那个村只有一间小学，如果要升上中学就要走路到最靠近的市镇去读书。我不知道市镇有多远，不过你们看村外这样的风景就知道一点也不靠近了吧。
我们比在那里长大的小孩幸福，不是因为物质生活比他们好，是因为我们更有机会实现梦想。当一扇门关闭的时候，总有另一扇门会打开。
不过这也不表示萝卜寨的人不快乐啦，因为人只会为自己失去或者别人拥有的东西觉得不满足。我想他们比较容易满足，就容易快乐。
往回说一下，这是我在第三天找到的小吃-青稞饼。超爱！有甜的有咸的，像chabata bread不过比较软。那个摊没有cashier, 付钱的时候顾客自己把钱放在鞋盒里面然后自己找钱。饼呢，第一次问是6元，第二次问是5元。 把钱放进鞋盒之后，我们的团友走过来说他们刚才买是2元。我们吓了一跳再问摊主，她说：‘好啊儿，好啊儿，就两元，你们自个儿找回剩下的钱吧！’
八天里面，遇到很多有趣的人（旅行团里面有些 auntie 的 life story 更有趣），很新鲜。每个朋友都问我，好玩吗？好玩。。。 这次旅行很开心。

Anyway, yup I've finally sort out the photos so here they are.
八天梦幻之旅 (风景篇）
We went to 黄龙风景区 on the second day. Its a long strip of water with little pools that looks blue because of certain minerals at the bottom.

The fresh air, cool weather, tall and sexy mountains(with pointed tips) and trees in green, yellow and orange... Being surrounded by all these made the 4 hour walk very pleasant.
黄龙 is named 黄龙 because its a long strip of water and the little pools look like dragon scales. Aiyar, scenery is liddat one lar. If its long its a dragon, if its round its a dragon ball, if its round but not totally round its a 仙桃.
Then comes to the 'highlight of the tour' on the third day - 九寨沟风景区！

There's another 芦苇海 which is very beautiful! A 芦苇 field with a very distinctly blue river flowing through it. I didn't managed to take a photo of it, but I found one online. Here's the link, hope the owner of this photo doesn't mind.

This is my favourite place in 九寨沟! The water is very white, flows over the rocks so snugly.... >_< Its like a cross between river and waterfall. Unaggressive yet so energetic.

The Sun and blue skies are rarely seen in 四川. There's this proverb- 蜀犬吠日，saying that there was this 四川 puppy who has never seen the sun before, one day he saw the sun, got a shock out of his life and started barking at it. Which is quite understandable if you look at all the previous photos, all the skies are foggy. I heard it has to do with 四川 being in the shape of a basin, trapping the fog.
The journey back to 成都 from 九寨沟 took afew hours, but it wasn't unbearable cuz we travel amongst the mountains so there was alot to see. We stopped by the villages of some tribes on the way as well, which I shall blog about in the next entry.
I like the mountains there alot, very 梦幻 and 武侠小说ish unlike Malaysia mountains.
